Directions from Dublin Airport to Mallow/Longueville House by car are here

Note on coming from Dublin airport by car: if you do this then you will use the M50, which is the main highway going around the city.  This includes a 'barrier free' toll where the license number of your car is automatically read.  This is matched to the car owner who then has 24 hours to pay the toll, either online with a credit card or at many convenience stores and petrol stations.  If you are renting a car, ask the company if they expect you to pay.  If you have a UK registered car then in principle you should still pay but in practice there is some doubt as to whether you will be pursued for the payment!

To go to Mallow/Longueville House by public transport:
  1. Take the Dublin Bus service 748 from outside the arrivals level to Heuston Railway station (the last stop of the bus). The cost is €6 one-way and you can pay on the bus. The journey time is about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic.
  2. From Heuston station there are trains every hour to Mallow (on the line to Cork city). See the Irish Rail website for the most up-to-date timetable and ticket prices.  Tickets can be booked online through the Irish Rail website for collection at the station.  The journey time is about 2 1/2 hours. The ticket price is from €20 to €68 (round trip) or €10 to €36 (one way) depending on the time of day so it's worth checking the website for the cheapest times to travel.
  3. From Mallow station, take a taxi to your accommodation.  Longueville House is about 4 miles from Mallow.

Note on buying train tickets online: currently tickets can only be purchased up to 28 days in advance.  We recommend that you try to do this as the prices are often less than if you buy the ticket on the day of travel.
